Licensing and regulation
CFA members are licensed and regulated by the Office of Fair Trading, and must comply with all relevant UK legislation, including:
• Consumer Credit Act 1974 (as amended by the Consumer Credit Act 2006)
• Consumer Credit Regulatory Guidance issued by the Office of Fair Trading
• Data Protection Act 1998
• Privacy and Electronic Communications (EC Directive) Regulations 2003
• Consumer Protection from Unfair Trading Regulations 2008 and related Office of Fair Trading Guidance
• Financial Services (Distance Marketing) Regulations 2004
• Enterprise Act 2002
• Money Laundering Regulations 2007
